About the Show

directed by Lauren Bloom Hanover
dramaturgy by Seth Barrish

In Firstborn, Gigi’s solo performance, she navigates her fractured family of origin to make sense of a mysterious inheritance.

Gigi has performed this show off-Broadway at the United Theatre Solo Festival in New York City, Fertile Ground Festival of New Work and Performance Works Northwest, both in Portland, Oregon. Earlier versions were performed at Portland Story Theater and in the solo performance workshop at New York City's Barrow Group Theatre.

Read “The Beating Heart of the Story,” editor Jane Rosenman’s blog post
about Gigi’s experience transforming a memoir manuscript to an off-Broadway solo show.

Gigi brings her brand of storytelling and humor to her performances, public speaking coaching and corporate workshops. If you’d like to inquire about booking this show at your next event or need help finding the story in your next speech or presentation, contact gigi@gigirosenberg.com

I found Gigi’s show inspiring on multiple levels—her natural storytelling ability, the way she wove the characters into and throughout the story and especially her willingness to share something so personal which touched everyone in the audience. Beautifully done!
