About the Show

directed by Lauren Bloom Hanover
dramaturgy by Seth Barrish

Gigi, a firstborn daughter of the 1960s, navigates her fractured family of origin to make sense of her inheritance.
The show (originally titled The Inheritance) was performed at the Fertile Ground Festival of New Work. Earlier versions of some stories were performed at Portland Story Theater and New York City's Barrow Street Theatre. This show has been re-written and re-staged.

***Please note: Both theaters are very small so buy your tickets soon to avoid disappointment!***

I found Gigi’s show inspiring on multiple levels—her natural storytelling ability, the way she wove the characters into and throughout the story and especially her willingness to share something so personal which touched everyone in the audience. Beautifully done!

Gigi’s story is witty, funny and heart wrenching.
— Judy Cappleman, teacher
I was riveted by Gigi Rosenberg’s performance. The journey she takes us on—from family conflict to individuation—exposes deeper truths about what we inherit and what our parents can never give us.
